Creative writing with Fables led by Lorianne Geyer

​In this class we will read, discuss, and brainstorm about literature to help us become better writers. We will use what we learn to rewrite and illustrate fables to make them our own. We will make short outlines of stories and discuss boring words and descriptive words such as adverbs and adjectives. We will showcase our work at the end.

 Ages: 2nd-6th Grade

Letter Writing/Writing Process

Let’s explore the writing process through weekly letter writing! In this class, we will learn the basics of friendly letter writing, as well as basic proofreading marks, grammar tips and peer editing. We will use each class as an opportunity to compose a short (or longer- if you’re ambitious!) letter to a pen pal. Don’t have a pen pal? No worries- pick a family member, church member, or missionary to write to! Bring an address or two and your teacher will supply everything else (envelopes, stamps, fun paper and stickers).

This class will teach and practice basic sign language.

Space Science led by Andrea Lenertz

Journey through the Milky Way and gain a greater appreciation of space. We will discover the wonders of our universe and the planets of our  solar system, how astronomy has influenced our world and much more. 

Ages: 3rd-6th grade

Beginning Spanish led by Adele Grosz

Come and learn some basics of the Spanish language and the culture of the countries where it is spoken. This will be an interactive class with many different learning games and activities.  If possible, Adele would like for each family to be able to join a Google classroom where she would be able to share additional materials and activities that could be done outside of class time.

American Revolution led by Marie Revard

This history pocket class will include lessons, crafts, and projects that will help students explore the American Revolution in a creative, interactive way.

Students will learn about different forms of art and utilizing mixed media. We will be using paints, charcoal, pencils, pens, magazines, etc. This is an introduction art class to learn and grow in the love of visual arts and have fun exploring creativity. No experience required.

The Joy of Birding: An Amateur's Guide to Ornithology led by Melaney Smith

Students will discover the wonderful world of birds through stories, hands-on activities, and guided exploration.

​This class is geared towards students who already have a basic knowledge of crochet. We will be quickly reviewing the basics and making project.

Personal Finance led by Katharine Baird 

We will go through the book "Before Personal Finance". Taken from the book's description, "Each of the 10 lessons captures the student's imagination by asking them to shape the future for an avatar, Future You, deciding on earning, spending, giving, and saving. As Future You ages from 13 to 22, the student experiences the challenges of budgeting for snacks, clothes, travel, and even a car. The element of surprise is added as the student spins a wheel to unveil financial twists in each lesson, creating a distinctive journey into the financial future and providing an unforgettable experience."
